The main event of UFC Fight Night 73 features two top ten light heavyweights going at it. The winner of the fight will cement his ranking in the top five and be looking for a fight against someone else in the top five. #4 Glover Teixeira will be taking on #6 Ovince Saint Preux.

Teixeira is looking to show that his two straight losses were a fluke and that he is still a legitimate title contender at 205. Saint Preux is on a two-fight win streak and is looking to show fans that he is the real deal at 205. Saint Preux has won his last two fights in the very first round by TKO and a win will cement him as a top five light heavyweight.

The main event of UFC Fight Night 73 may be getting all of the hype, but the co-main event is also something worth talking about. It features a lightweight war between #5 Michael Johnson and #12 Beneil Dariush.

Johnson is arguably one of the top lightweights in the UFC and his four-fight win streak highlights that. His unanimous decision victory over Edson Barboza really cements his top five ranking and he will be going into battle against Dariush. Dariush is coming off of an upset victory over Jim Miller. It was a fight many thought Miller would win easily, but Dariush dominated the fight and won by unanimous decision. Johnson will not be surprised by Dariush like Miller was, but it will still be a hard fight for the top five lightweight.

Here are the keys to victory for Johnson.

Use His Experience:

Many times people always talk about experience and it is almost always overlooked because of it. Johnson has twelve fights in the UFC to six. Johnson has fought for The Ultimate Fighter title, lost, but gained the experience from the fight. Johnson needs to use his experience against Dariush if he wants to win on Saturday.

Use His Wrestling:

Dariush is no slouch when it comes to wrestling; however, his wrestling is not on the level of Johnson. Johnson needs to make sure he showcases his wrestling on Saturday and he will be one step closer to walking away victorious on Saturday.

Stay Out Of Trouble On The Ground:

Dariush’s best attribute would most likely be his submissions. Six of his eleven wins are by submission and he is a BJJ black belt. Johnson needs to showcase his wrestling, but he needs to make sure that his wrestling does not get him into any tight situations. If Dariush has a chance to end the fight by submission, he will most likely take advantage of that. If Johnson wants to walk away with a big victory for his career, he needs to stay out of trouble on the ground.
