Unlike other professional sports, there is no offseason in combat sports. Week in and week out, fight cards all over the world are taking place. Some weeks there will be major fight cards filled with big name fighters, others not so much, but there are fights taking place every week.

Regardless of whether the fighters are household names or not, The MMA Corner will preview the best fight taking place during the week.

This week’s Fight of the Week is the featherweight class between Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira.

On Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan two of the UFC’s youngest contenders will battle it out in the main event of UFC Fight Night 74.

While they may be young Holloway and Oliveira are two of the best featherweights in the UFC today and the winner of this bout could potentially be just one win away from a shot at the featherweight title.

A winner of four in a row with three of those wins coming by submission, Oliveira continues to prove that his ground game is as dangerous as they come. But while he has been solid in the Octagon, Oliveira continues to struggle with the cut to featherweight; missing weight twice since dropping down to 145.

Holloway on the other hand has won six in a row with five of those win coming by stoppage. A well-rounded fighter with excellent technical striking, Holloway continues to get better and better everytime he steps into the Octagon.

Both of these fighters are young, hungry and uber-talented and fans should expect to see one hell of a fight come Sunday.
