It looks like fans will have to wait for Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Claudia Gadelha II.

On Friday afternoon, it was revealed Jedrzejczyk, the reigning UFC women’s strawweight champion, will put her belt on the line against French Canadian Valérie Létourneau. Brazilian outlet Combate was the first to report the news, which UFC President Dana White would later confirm at the UFC’s GO BIG event.

This news may surprise some as it was previously reported Jedrzejczyk would rematch Gadelha early next year.

Jedrzejczyk (10-0) most recently defend her title with a violent TKO of former Invicta FC atomweight champion Jessica Penne at UFC Fight Night 69. Prior to this win, fans saw Polish striker crowned the champion with a first round stoppage of then champion Carla Esparza last December. She earned her shot at the title with back-to-back decisions over Gadelha and Juliana Lima.

Létourneau (8-3) was last seen picking up her fourth straight win, and third under the UFC banner, with a dominant deciion win over then undefeated Maryna Moroz at UFC Fight Night 74 last month. Prior to this win ‘Trouble’ earned desicions over Jessica Rakoczy and Elizabeth Phillips.

UFC 193 is currently set to take place on Nov. 14 at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. A women’s bantamweight title fight between reigning champion Ronda Rousey and former Boxing champion Holly Holm will serve as the main event.
