Michael Bisping (Dave Mandel/Sherdog)UFC Set to Return to London For UFC Fight Night on Feb. 27 José Youngs September 16, 2015 News, Spotlight, UFC On Wednesday afternoon, UFC officialsannounced their plans for the first European card of 2016 as they head to England for UFC Fight Night on February 27. The event will mark their return to The 02 in London. The UFC last visited London in 2014 with 14,000 fans watching Britain’s Jimi Manuwa take on current number one contender Alexander Gustafsson. That event ended up selling out in under 24 hour. “UFC and MMA have enjoyed a phenomenal level of success and growth across Europe in recent years and London remains a particularly important market for us,” stated Joe Carr, the Vice President of International at UFC “We recently sold out the 3Arena in Dublin in a matter of seconds and the SSE Hydro in Glasgow a few hours after going on sale earlier this year, therefore this event will be a great opportunity for fans who missed out on tickets to those dates to secure a seat this time around. When you combine the fantastic fan support with a growing roster of world class British and Irish fighting talent, it’s difficult to predict anything other than an unforgettable, sell-out event in London on February 27.” No bouts have been announced but UFC British imports Michael Bisping, Brad Pickett and Ross Pearson have already discussed their desire to compete in front of home fans.
