On Sunday, Sept. 27, One Championship touched down in Jakarta, Indonesia, to bring their fans One Championship 31: Odyssey of Champions. The card was headlined by an interim featherweight title fight between Martin Nguyen (4-0 MMA, 1-0 One) and Marat Gafurov (11-0 MMA, 2-0 One).

Featherweight champion Jadambaa Narantungalag was set to defend his title in the main event for the first time after capturing the belt in August, 2014, from Koji Oishi. However, visa issues kept him off this fight card. He was replaced by Martin Nguyen, who faced Dagestan native, Marat Gafurov. Gafurov won his two previous fights with One Championship via first round rear naked choke. He has started his career undefeated through eleven fights. Nguyen meanwhile came off a debut victory back in November, 2014, via second round submission. Nguyen was undefeated in his first four career fights prior to this event.

Also on the card was former UFC lightweight, Roger Huerta (27-7-1 MMA, 1-1 One), coming off his TKO win from over a year ago.
