Unlike other professional sports, there is no offseason in combat sports. Week in and week out, fight cards all over the world are taking place. Some weeks there will be major fight cards filled with big name fighters, others not so much, but there are fights taking place every week.

Regardless of whether the fighters are household names or not, The MMA Corner will preview the best fight taking place during the week.

This week’s Fight of the Week is the ONE Championship middleweight title fight between champion Igor Svirid and Vitaly Bigdash.

On Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, ONE Championship heads to the Putra Indoor Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for ONE Championship 32: Tigers of Asia.

Originally, Svirid was scheduled to defend his title against Bigdash at ONE Championship: Dynasty of Champions (Shanghai), but the event was cancelled due to public holidays in China. Now – roughly three weeks later – Svirid and Bigdash will battle it out for ONE Championship gold.

After losing his pro debut, Svirid has rattled off 10 consecutive victories; seven of which have come by way of stoppage. In his last outing, Svirid knocked out Leandro Ataides in just 17 seconds to claim the ONE Championship middleweight title. Bigdash on the other hand is undefeated in his pro career and has won all of his bouts by way of stoppage.

These fighters may not be well known here in the states, but make no mistake, this is easily the best fight taking place this week in the world of MMA. Svirid and Bigdash are well-rounded finishers and they are going to put on a show.
