The promotions President Shannon Knapp announced the pairing during an appearance on The MMA Hour on MMAFighting.com. Cyborg (14-1, 1 NC), the promotion’s reigning featherweight champion and former Strikeforce & Elite XC champion, would be making the drop below 145-pounds for the first time in her career, in hopes of closing the gap between herself and UFC’s bantamweight limit of 135-pounds. The Brazilian will enter this bout having finished all four Invicta opponents by way of knockout. In her most recent outing, the Cyborg walked away with 45-second victory of Faith Van Duin at Invicta FC 13. This bested her previous 46-second TKO vin over Charmaine Tweet earlier in the year.
