Bellator MMA lightweight champion Will Brooks has never been one to hold his tongue when expressing his belief that he is the best 155-pound fighter in the world.

So on Saturday morning, just minutes after his American Top Team product Jorge Masvidal dropped a split decision to former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson, Brooks took to Twitter to give his take on a potential matchup with Henderson in the future.

“Easy work,” Brooks wrote.

The man known as “Ill” would later reiterate his comments on on a potential matchup with “Smooth.”

“I didn’t stutter, I said easy work I meant easy work,” wrote Brooks,

Henderson’s win over Masvidal marked his final bout on his UFC contract, making made him the sports most coveted free agent.

A few years ago, the possibility of such a high-profile fighter making the jump from the UFC to Bellator rarely crossed the minds of fight fans.

But under Scott Coker’s regime, the promotion has shown they are willing make the big push to land the big name free agents of the mixed martial arts world.

With Henderson now the next big name out there, the possibility of him joining former UFC contenders Phil Davis, Josh Thomson and Josh Koscheck across the aisle has never seemed higher.
