Former UFC lightweight title contender Donald Cerrone is making the jump up to welterweight to face Tim Means in the main event of UFC Fight Night 82 in Pittsburgh. The matchup was announced urign the UC 195 weigh-in show

Cerrone (28-7) will be looking to right the ship followoing his 66-second knockout loss to reigning champion Rafael dos Anjos in their title fight at UFC on FOX 17 in December.  This marked his second loss to dos Anjos, prompting the move up in weight classes. Prior to this setback, “Cowboy” rattled off eight straight wins inside the Octagon. He currently holds 20 career stoppage wins, including 15 by way of submission, and a UFC record of 14-4.

Means (25-7-1) is coming of a violent second round knockout win over John Howard at UFC Fight Night 80 in December, earning a Performance of the Night bonus in the process. Prior to this win ‘The Dirty Bird’ suffered a submission loss to Matt Brown at UFC 189, snapping his four fight win streak. Means will enter this contest This also marked his 21 career stoppage win, including 17 by way of knockout.

UFC Fight Night 82 is currently scheduled to take place February 27 at the Consol Energy Center Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
