On Sunday night, during the broadcast of UFC FIght Night 81, the confirmed the rumors that UFC flyweights Joanna Jedrzejczyk and rival Claudia Gadelha will serve as opposing coaches during season 23 of The Ultimate Fighter.

The coaches will lead a group of eight light heavyweights and eight strawweights who will compete for a UFC contract and the title of The Ultimate Fighter.

Following their stints as coaches both men will compete for the 115-pound title in the main event of the TUF 23 Finale in July.

Jedrzejczyk (11-0) won their previous meeting with a close split decision at UFC on FOX 13 last December. In her most recent contest, Poland native was seen defeinding her belt with a unainmous decisoin win over Valeria Letourneau at UFC 193 in November.

Prior to this win, fans witness “JJ” put on a striking clinic against former Invicta FC atomweight champion Jessica Penne at UFC Fight Night 69 en route to a violent third round TKO. She will enter this bout five career stoppage wins, including four by way of knockout.

Gadelha (13-1) has not kept it a secret she felt she did enough to win her initial meeting with Jedrzejczyk. In her most recent effort, the Nova Uniao earned her rematch with the champion with dominant decision win over former WSOF champion Jessica Aguilar at UFC 190 in August.

While it initially belived she would be next for the champion, an injured hand forced her to watch from the sideline as Jedrzejczyk faced Letourneau instead. She will enter this bout with eight career stoppage wins, including six by way of submission.

The TUF 23 Finale will take place July 8 in Las Vegas, the day before UFC 200. A venue has yet to be announced.
