It has been announced that TUF 14 winner, Diego Brandao, has tested positive for marijuana following his most recent fight, a loss to Brian Ortega, at UFC 195.

The positive results came from a test result that was done a month prior to his bout at UFC 195, earlier in the month. Brandao, who trains out of Jackson WinkleJohn’s highly praised gym, seemed to be finally putting all of the pieces together in his career leading up to his bout against Ortega that was featured on the main card of one of the biggest events of the year.

After looking to be up on the judges score cards after two rounds, he was submitted by Ortega via 3rd round submission, snapping his current two-fight win streak.

Brandao has up to two weeks to appeal the test. There has been no further comments thus far from either Brandao or his camp.

According to the UFC, USADA will work to ensure that “the Commission has the necessary information to determine its proper judgment of Brandao’s potential anti-doping violation.”

The questionable substance found is Brandao’s results was Carboxy-THC. This substance was above WADA’s limit of 180 ng/ml. The NAC limit is 150 ng/ml.
