Multiple-time jiu-jitsu world champion Augusto Mendes has officially been named John Lineker’s replacement against Cody Garbrandt at UFC Fight Night 83 this weekend. Combate was the first to report the news.

This announcment comes just a day after it was revealed Lineker had been foced out of the bout after contracting dengue fever.

Mendes (5-0) was scheduled to fight for the Legacy FC title when he got a call from the UFC to replace injured Jimy Hettes against Charles Rosa at UFC Fight Nigh t 81. However, the Brazilian pulled out hours later with a rib injury.

Garbrandt (7-0), Team Alpha Male product, has won won back-to-back fights since debuting with the UFC in 2014. In his most recent effort, “No Love” went the distance for the first time in his career, earning a decision over Enrique Briones at UFC 189. He previously finished his first six opponents by way of knockout.

UFC Fight Night 83 will be take place at Consol Energy Center in Pittsbrugh. The entire event with be headlined by a welterweight bout between Donald Cerrone and Alex Oliveira.
