Anderson Silva (Esther Lin/MMAFighting.com)Report: UFC Targeting Anderson Silva vs. Uriah Hall For UFC 198 in Brazil José Youngs March 16, 2016 News, Spotlight, UFC According to reports, the UFC is looking to book a middleweight fight between former champion Anderson Silva vs. Uriah Hall at UFC 198 in Curitiba, Brazil. Sherdog was the first to report the news. Silva (34-7) will be looking to right the ship after dropping a unanimous decision to Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night 84 in February. This setback, marked the Brazilian’s first appearance inside the Octagon since his decision win over Nick Diaz at UFC 183 in January 2015. Following his win, “The Spider” was suspended for a failed an out-of-competition drug test administrated by the Nevada State Athletic Commission ahead of his bout against Diaz. It was later revealed Silva also failed his post-fight drug test after testing positive for drostanolone again as well as the anti-anxiety medication Oxazepam and Temazepam. Silva currently holds several UFC records including the longest win streak in UFC history (16), which included a UFC title reign that lasted a company record six years, eight months and 22 days. To date, all but two of Silva’s wins have come by way TKO, KO or submission. Hall (12-6), a finalist on season 17 of The Ultimate Fighter, will also be looking to get back into the win column after suffering a decision loss to Robert Whittaker at UFC 193 in November. Prior to this win, “Primetime” scored a highlight reel knockout over Gegard Mousasi at UFC Fight Night 75. He will enter this bout with eight career stoppage wins, including 6 by way of knockout, and a UFC record of 4-4. UFC 198 takes place May 14 at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. The main event will feature a heavyweight title fight between reigning champ Fabricio Werdum and top contender Stipe Miocic.
