UFC officials announced the matchup Tuesday afternoon. Shogun (22-11), also the former 2005 Pride Middleweight Grand Prix Champion, was scheduled to face fellow former champion Rashad Evans at UFC on FOX 18 next month. However, an injured knee forced him out of the matchup. The Brazilian has not been seen inside the Octagon since defeating fellow ountryman Antônio ‘Minotauro’ Nogueira for UFC 190 last August.. Prior to this win, fans saw him suffer a first round knockout loss to Ovince Saint Preux at UFC Fight Night 56. Anderson (8-1), winner of season 19 of The Ultimate Fighter, has won five of his last six UFC bouts, including his last three. In his most recent effort, ‘Beastin 25/8′ earned a close decision over UFC veteran Tom Lawlor at UFC 196 earlier this month. Prior to this win, Anderson eearend back-to-back decisions over Fábio Maldonado and Jan Błachowicz. UFC 198 takes place May 14 at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil.
