According to reports, a judge had issued a warrant for Jones’s arrest for violating his probation after he was cited for drag racing in Albuquerque last week. Jones was serving probation for his role in the hit-and-run case, where he was seen fleeing from the scene after crashing into h a pregnant woman’s car last April. According to TMZ, Jones turned himself in to the Albuquerque PD on Tuesday morning and is currently being held at the county jail. As far as competition, Jones (21-1) was last seen earning a unanimous decision over bitter rival Daniel Cormier in their main event title fight at UFC 182 . It was later made public that Jones’s pre-fight drug test results revealed he had tested positive for cocaine. However, since the Nevada State Athletic Commission follows the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) code, Jones was not suspended due to the fact the fact cocaine is not considered a banned out-of-competition substance. He was scheduled to defend his title against Anthony Johnson at UFC 187. But as a result of Jones’ role in the hit-and-run case, the UFC striped him of his title and suspended him indefinitely. Cormier would eventually be named the replacement and go on to win the light heavyweight title with a fourth round submission over Johnson. Both Cormier and Jones are currently scheduled to compete for the title n the main event of UFC 197 next month. There is no word on if this latest development will jeopardize Jones’ involvement in the bout.
