The injury bug has claimed another victim.

On Friday night, it was revealed a foot injury has forced reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier out of his highly anticipated title fight against Jon Jones at UFC 197 later this month.

BJPenn.com was the first to report the news.

It is currently unclear whether the UFC will find Jones a replacement or if the former champion will wait for Cormier to heal up.

UFC 197 will go down April 23 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. A flyweight title fight between reigning champion Demetrious Johnson and former Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo is currently scheduled to serve as the co-main event but could be promoted to the healdining act if Jones does not remain on the card.

The UFC has yet to officially announce the news.
