The two were scheduled to headline UFC on FOX 19 on April 16 in Tampa. Damon Martin of FOX Sports was the first to report the news. As a result of the shakeup, the light heavyweight contest between former champion Rashad Evans and former contender Glover Teixeira has been promoting to the main event. Teixeira (23-4) is coming off a dominant second round TKO over Patrick Cummins UFC Fight Night 77. Prior to this win, fans saw the hulking Brazilian snap his career worst two-fight win streak with a third round submission of Ovince Saint Preux at UFC Fight Night 73. He will enter this bout with 21 career stoppage wins, including 14 by way of knockout. Evans (19-4-1), winner of season two of The Ultimate Fighter, was last seen suffering a heart breaking loss to fellow TUF winner Ryan Bader at UFC 192 earlier this month. This marked the Blackzillian products’ first appearance inside the Octagon since injuring his knee 10 days before his scheduled fight against reigning light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 170 in February 2014. To date his last victory was his first round TKO over Chael Sonnen at UFC 167 in November 2013. UFC on FOX 19 will go down at the Amalie Center in Tampa on April 16. The UFC is currently looking for a replacement opponent for Nurmagomedov.
