On Saturday, June 18, the UFC returned to Canada to hold UFC Fight Night: MacDonald vs. Thompson.

Rory MacDonald (18-3, No. 1 welterweight) was fighting for the first time after his 5th round TKO loss to welterweight champion Robbie Lawler in what was the Fight of the Night at UFC 189. In the meantime, Stephen Thompson (12-1, No. 2 welterweight) has been leaving a wake of knockout victims in his path, winning six straight since his lone career defeat against Matt Brown via unanimous decision at UFC 145.

The co-main event is set to be a great stand-up battle between Donald Cerrone (29-7, 1 NC) takes on the man who saved UFC 50, Patrick Cote (24-9). With both guys having heavy hands and feet, look for this to be a barnburner.
