CM Punk finally has a date set for his highly anticipated UFC debut.

During an appearance on the “UFC Unfiltered” the former WWE Superstar revealed he will square off against fellow welterweight Mickey Gall at UFC 203 on Sept. 10 in Cleveland.

“The instant I got cleared I got on the horn with (UFC President Dana White) and we nailed everything down so I will be debuting September 10 in Cleveland,” Brooks said. “I’m super excited. For obviously a myriad of reasons. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.”

Punk (0-0), real name Phil Brooks, initially announced he had signed with the UFC during the broadcast of UFC 181 in December 2014.  While it was rumored he would debut at either UFC 199 or UFC 200 this summer, a back injury forced the UFC to postpone his debut.

Gall (2-0), a Millers Brothers MMA product, was last seen dominating Michael Jackson en route to 45-second submission on the UFC Fight Pass prelims of UFC Fight Night 82.

The New Jersey native initially rose to prominence during his appearance on White’s YouTube series “Looking For a Fight,” where fans saw him walk away with a first round submission over Ron Templeton. Almost immediately, Gall took to the mic and called out the former WWE superstar.

UFC 203 takes place Sept. 10 at Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena with a main card on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. A heavyweight title fight between reigning champ Stipe Miocic vs. Alistair Overeem will serve as the main event.
