VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA  – Today Trident Fighting Championship, a new east coast based combat sports league, officially launches with retired Strikeforce fighter Antwain “The Juggernaut” Britt at the helm as the promotions President of Operations. Trident FC will offer to fans the best in amateur and professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Muay Thai kickboxing, with their first show anticipated for late 2016.

Planning for Trident FC began in late 2014, with a number of west coast investors looking for ways to expand the sports of MMA and Muay Thai on the east coast with a “Fans and Fighters First” approach. This quickly lead to negotiations with Virginia native Britt, who for the last five years has been successfully organizing local charity fighting events and training the next generation of superstars.

While Britt currently trains and resides in Virginia Beach, Va., Trident FC will seek to organize events in major and untapped markets along the east coast to include Virginia, New Jersey, Florida, and New York, just to name a few. Due to ongoing negotiations, information is limited with regard to the events schedule, however Trident FC owners are excited to say they will have official dates and matches announced as early as Fall of 2016.

Trident FC believes Britt, who was on Season 8 of The Ultimate Fighter, has been in the cage with some of the best in the sport such as Feijao Cavalcante and Ovince St. Preux, and also holds knockout wins over Scott Lighty and Antonio Mendes, has the background and experience required to break out into the market in a big way. Britt was also an invitee to the 2015 ADCC World Championships in Beijing, China.

Trident FC will offer only the best in amateur and professional combat sports, and strive to offer their athletes a stage to showcase their skills and passion, while bringing an intensity as the region’s most entertaining promotion. For more information, visit
