The UFC has long been the most popular and exciting MMA organization in the sport with its combined brutality and skill making it a global hit.

Ireland’s Conor McGregor has a lot to do with the massive surge in popularity in recent years, having become the face of the UFC, with his devastating knockouts in the octagon and entertaining trash talk outside of it.

But ‘the Notorious’ didn’t immediately burst into the UFC out of nowhere, he first made his name fighting out of another organization in Ireland and across the UK.

This was, of course, Cage Warriors.

McGregor achieved a feat that he later captured in the UFC too, as he clinched the Cage Warriors featherweight Championship before moving up in weight and clinching the lightweight title as well.

The deadly Dubliner famously went on to do exactly the same in the UFC too, stopping Eddie Alvarez at Madison Square Garden in New York to reign supreme as a two-division world champion. This was the first time any fighter had held belts simultaneously in the organization.

With McGregor being one superstar to come out Cage Warriors, there are plenty more ready to step up and provide fans with a host of entertainment inside the octagon.

At the moment, there are a variety of top names competing in the roster and many have already secured their status as world class MMA competitors.

Cage Warriors is continuing to surge in popularity throughout the UK and beyond and the sponsor partnership deal with betsafe has been a key factor in such a rampant rise.

One fighter and reigning Cage Warriors champion that has been causing a stir and making a name for himself in recent times is Liverpudlian Paddy Pimblett. The 22-year-old has established himself as a great competitor and his charisma has also helped to draw in big audiences and crowds each time he steps into the octagon for a scrap. In an interview at the end of March, ahead of the Cage Warrior 82, Paddy expands on his enthusiasm over his recent form. Unfortunately, that fight saw him lose out to Nad Narimani, but he must surely be buzzing to get back in form.
