Rick Story replaces injured Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, faces Marquardt

Fresh off his unanimous decision victory over Thiago Alves at UFC 130, Rick Story will be back in action sooner than expected.  Fellow welterweight Anthony “Rumble” Johnson was forced out of the UFC on Versus 4 main event against Nate Marquardt on June 26 from Pittsburgh, Pa.  Story will have less than a month to prepare for the bout.  Marquardt is making his UFC welterweight debut.


UFC on Versus 5 official for Milwaukee on August 14

The UFC has officially announced their first trip to Wisconsin, as they bring UFC on Versus 5 to the Bradley Center on August 14.  Headlining the event is a welterweight collision between Chris Lytle and Dan Hardy.  Also on the main card are lightweights Ben Henderson and Jim Miller, light heavyweights Stephan Bonnar and Karlos Vemola, and welterweights Duane “Bang” Ludwig and Amir Sadollah.  Tickets for the event go on sale Saturday, June 11.


Lawlor gets new opponent, event

After the UFC released Brazilian Maiquel Falcao, middleweight Tom Lawlor found himself without an opponent for his scheduled fight at UFC 134.  It appears now that Lawlor has been removed from the Brazil card and will now meet Australian Kyle Noke at UFC on Versus 5 in Milwaukee.   Both fighters are veterans of the Ultimate Fighter reality show.


Michael Bisping vs. “Mayhem” Miller headliner slated for December 3

The headline fight for The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale has been announced, as the coaches from the upcoming season will meet at the event.  The middleweight battle will take place December 3, likely from the Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nev. and will air live on Spike TV.  Miller is making his return to the UFC after a stint with Strikeforce.  Bisping will be coaching on the reality show for the second time, after winning the show’s third season.


Cub Swanson injured, out of UFC 132 bout with Erik Koch

Featherweight Cub Swanson has again been forced out of a scheduled fight against Erik Koch due to injury.  The two were slated to battle at UFC 132 in July.

Originally expected to meet at UFC on Versus 3 in March event, a previous Swanson injury forced him out of that fight and Koch instead faced Raphael Assuncao at UFC 128.
