Todd Duffee vs. Nick Gaston Booked for DREAM.17

Former UFC competitor Todd Duffee will get another chance to prove himself in Japan as it was revealed on Wednesday that the heavyweight has agreed to meet undefeated Nick Gaston at DREAM.17 on July 16 at Ariake Coliseum.

Duffee’s promotional debut at Dynamite on New Year’s Eve 2010 was catastrophic, falling to DREAM heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem in only 19 seconds.

Also announced was that Atsushi Yamamoto has been forced out of his third-place bantamweight GP bout with Kenji Osawa due to a detached retina. ZST bantamweight champion Keisuke Fujiwara will instead face Osawa for third place honors.


Ex-Sengoku Champ Kanehara Headed to Russia for July 7 Title Bout

Former Sengoku featherweight titleholder Masanori Kanehara will take on Rasul Mirzaev on July 7 at “Battle of Moscow 4” from Moscow’s Aquarium Sports Arena, and will also determine the company’s inaugural 143-pound champion. Other participants confirmed for the card include current M-1 Global welterweight champ Shamil Zavurov, M-1 veteran Mikhail Malyutin, and undefeated Rasul Magomedov.
