Dream signs former UFC competitor Gerald Harris

UFC veteran Gerald Harris has signed with the Japanese promotion Dream.  The terms of the contract were not disclosed but Harris did say it was a multi-fight deal.

Harris brings a 18-4 record to his new organization.  He was controversially cut by the UFC after a single poor performance that followed three TKO victories, twice earning “KO of the Night” bonus.

The curse surrounding UFC 133 continues.

With UFC 133 less than two weeks away, the card has once again been shuffled.  Alessio Sakara has been forced out of his bout with Jorge Rivera with a torn ACL that will sideline him for six to eight months.  Costantinos Phillippou, who was previously scheduled to face Rafael Natal on the undercard, has been promoted to the main card to face Rivera.

Former TUF competitor Paul Bradley has verbally agreed to fill the opening left by Phillippou and face Rafael “Sapo” Natal.  Bradley briefly appeared on season 7 of the reality show before he was forced off show with a contagious skin condition.

Matt Riddle scheduled to meet prospect Lance Benoist

TUF alumni Matt Riddle has agreed to welcome undefeated prospect Lance Benoist at “UFC Ultimate Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou.” UFN 25 is scheduled for Sept. 17 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is New Orleans, La., and will air on Spike TV.

Benoist has won all five of his professional fights and five out of six amateur bouts by first-round stoppage.  Riddle competed on “The Ultimate Fighter 7” before making his professional debut in the UFC, where he holds a 5-2 record.

Galesic vs. Shlemenko being planned for Bellator 50

Dream veteran Zelg Galesic is in negotiations to make his Bellator debut against Alexander Shlemenko.  Galesic enters the organization with a 10-5 record.  The hard hitter has only been out of the first round one time in his career.  Shlemenko is a veteran with a 39-7 record and 24 victories via TKO.

Bellator 50 is scheduled for Sept. 17 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
