Tavares v. Stout, Barboza v. Etim are Brazil Bound

Fan favorites have been added to UFC’s return to Brazil in January. Each fighter has verbally agreed to meet, as Sam “Hands of Stone” Stout will take on Brazil’s Thiago Tavares. Both men, known for their exciting performances, are coming off of impressive finishes – Stout scored Knockout of the Night in the first round of UFC 131, while Tavares walked through Spencer Fisher with a second-round TKO at UFC Rio. UFC 138 Submission of the Night victor, Terry Etim, will follow up his 17-second showing with a bout against another UFC Rio winner in Edson Barboza.

Riddle v. Ramos Added To UFC 141

UFC president Dana White announced today that verbal agreements have been entered into by welterweight and former Shooto champion Luis “Beicao” Ramos and Ultimate Fighter veteran Matt Riddle for a Dec. 30 meeting in Las Vegas at UFC 141.

“UFC on FOX 1: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos” Fight Card Revealed

For many reasons, the UFC on FOX 1 this Saturday night is a huge event. Primarily, UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and top challenger Junior dos Santos while be showcased as the main event. However, 18 other fighters will also compete and the UFC recently revealed the official 10 bout line-up for the Nov. 12 event, which takes place at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Bellator continues global approach and signs European prospect Attila Vegh

More and more fighters are coming out of Europe as MMA begins to grow internationally. Bellator Fighting Championship has shown a history of signing top global talent and recently contributed to the cosmopolitan growth of the sport by adding European prospect Attila Vegh (24-4-2).

Although an opponent and date for his first appearance for the promotion have yet to be determined, Vegh is most likely to make his Bellator debut in the upcoming light heavyweight tournament.

The 26-year-old Vegh, the owner of a four-fight win streak, trains at Slovakia’s Octagon Fighting Academy and has earned stoppage wins in 19 of his 24 career victories – including a balanced approach of 10 by way of submission and nine by knockout.

After yet another scratch, Bobby Lashley meets Karl Knothe at Shark Fights 21

Yet another replacement has been made in Shark Fights 21, which is to be held on Nov. 11 at Fair Park Coliseum in Lubbock, Texas. The event airs via delay on FUEL TV on Dec. 23.

Karl Knothe has stepped in to fight Bobby Lashley after the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has declined to license Mark Martinez due to incomplete medical paperwork.
