Evan Dunham vs. Paul Sass aimed for UFC on Fox 2

Yesterday, the main event at UFC on Fox 2 was announced.  Today, another great fight has been announced as Evan Dunham will take on Paul Sass in a lightweight clash.  Dunham recently snapped his two-fight losing streak after defeating Shamar Bailey in his last time out and looks to continue the success against the undefeated England native.  Sass has a very impressive ground game as he has won 11 of his 12 fights by submission.

UFC on Fox 2 will take place on Jan. 28 at the United Center in Chicago.

Three more fights announced for The Ultimate Fighter 14

Yesterday, The MMA Corner reported on fights between Dustin Pague and John Albert, Johnny Bedford and Louis Gaudinot, and Marcus Brimmage and Stephen Bass.  Today, it has been revealed that three more fights are on tap for Saturday’s event.  Two of the fights will be contested at featherweight while the other will take place at bantamweight.  The two 145-pound fights will be Bryan Caraway against Dustin Neace and Steven Siler versus John Clopton.  The 135-pound fight will be between Roland Delorme and Josh Ferguson.

The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale takes place this Saturday, Dec. 3, in Las Vegas.

UFC 141 main card officially full

The fifth and final main card fight at UFC 141 has been announced and it will be a featherweight fight between Nam Phan and Jim Hettes.  It looked as though Phan was standing on his last leg with the promotion until he defeated Leonard Garcia in a Fight of the Night performance at UFC 136 and kept his promotional life alive.  The TUF veteran will take on undefeated Jim Hettes, who is coming off a second-round submission victory over Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres.

“UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem” will take place on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas.

Voting for “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 14 awards now open

One of the new things with this season of the UFC’s reality show was that the fans would get to vote for the season’s best knockout, best submission andbest fight.  The voting is now open to the public and the winner of each category will take home $25,000.

Eliot Marshall released from the UFC

After Eliot Marshall lost to Brandon Vera at UFC 137, there was speculation as to how much longer he would be with the promotion.  Earlier today, “The Fire” Marshall announced via Twitter that he had been released from the promotion.

UFC 141 “Countdown” Show to air on FUEL TV

On Dec. 21, FUEL TV will air “Countdown to UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem.”  The show traditionally follows the top fighters on the upcoming show through their training camp and their life as the show gets nearer.  This show should be no different other than the fact that it will no longer be viewed on Spike TV.
