Bellator’s Sixth Season Moves to Friday Nights

Following the completion of its fifth season, Bellator Fighting Championships has announced that its sixth season will begin on Friday, March 2. The event will mark the first time the promotion has aired on Friday nights.

The sixth season will feature five tournaments, including featherweights, lightweights, welterweights and middleweights.

A fifth and final weight division will be announced soon.

TUF 14 Finale Salaries

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has released salaries for The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale.

The event took place Saturday, Dec. 3, at The Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas.  Michael Bisping outclassed his opposing coach Jason “Mayhem” Miller while Diego Brandao won the featherweight Ultimate Fighter honors, and John Dodson did the same in the bantamweight division.

Michael Bisping: $425,000 (includes $150,000 win bonus) def. Jason “Mayhem” Miller: $45,000

Diego Brandao: $16,000 (includes $8,000 win bonus) def. Dennis Bermudez: $8,000

John Dodson: $16,000 (includes $8,000 win bonus) def. T.J. Dillashaw: $8,000

Tony Ferguson: $30,000 (includes $15,000 win bonus) def. Yves Edwards: $16,000

Johnny Bedford: $16,000 (includes $8,000 win bonus) def. Louis Gaudinot: $8,000

Marcus Brimage: $16,000 (includes $8,000 win bonus) def. Stephen Bass: $8,000

Charles Oliveira meets Eric Wisely at UFC on Fox 2

Charles Oliveira will welcome Eric Wisely to the Octagon at UFC on Fox 2.  The two former lightweights will both make their featherweight debut.

The event takes place Jan. 28 at United Center in Chicago.

Oliveira vs. Wisely is expected to be part of a preliminary card that will air on either FX or FUEL TV.

Charlie Brenneman vs. Daniel Roberts slated for UFC on FX 1

Charlie Brenneman returns to action against Daniel Roberts at UFC on FX 1 on Jan. 20.

The event is headlined by a lightweight bout between Jim Miller and Melvin Guillard.  It will be the first event on the cable network and takes place from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.  It is unknown if the Brenneman-Roberts tilt will air on the main card.

Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal targeted for ‘Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine’

Former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal is expected to make his second appearance since returning from a lengthy injury layoff at “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine.”

“Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine” takes place Jan. 7 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The event’s main card airs live on Showtime.
