UFC on Fox 4 gets new main event and Lombard now meets Boetsch at UFC 149 The UFC continues to play musical chairs with its events following multiple injuries. After it was announced that Brian Stann was injured and out of his main event bout with Hector Lombard at UFC on Fox 4, the UFC looked to find Lombard a replacement. Following the news about Stann, the UFC announced a new main event for the fight card with Mauricio “Shogun” Rua taking on Brandon Vera. Not to shortly after Stann’s injury, Michael Bisping pulled out of his fight with Tim Boetsch at UFC 149, and now, Lombard will face Boetsch at the Calgary event. MMA Weekly Ryan Couture vs. Joe Duarte added to “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy” Event “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy” adds a lightweight matchup between Ryan Couture and Joe Duarte to its July 14 fight card. The main card airs on Showtime and will feature two title fights. First the vacant welterweight championship will be on the line when Tyron Woodley takes on Nate Marquardt and then Luke Rockhold will defend his middleweight championship against Tim Kennedy. MMA Junkie Jorge Masvidal vs. Justin Wilcox scheduled for “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy” Following the announcement of Ryan Couture vs. Joe Duarte, Strikeforce announced another lightweight bout between Jorge Masvidal and Justin Wilcox. MMA Junkie Former U.S. Olympic wrestler makes transition to MMA Former two-time NCAA champion and 2008 U.S. Olympian, Steve Mocco, will look to debut in MMA later this year.
