Bruno Carvalho Inks Deal With Cage Warriors

Bruno Carvalho has signed a five-fight contract with Cage Warriors. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and judo black belt has won nine of his last 10 bouts, a streak that extends back into 2009.

The Brazilian fighter is a former WEC middleweight champion but has since dropped to welterweight. He holds victories over former KSW middleweight champion Vitor Nobrega, Dream veteran Tatsuya Mizuno, former Pride middleweight Jean-Francois Lenogue and The Ultimate Fighter 11 contestant Kyacey Uscola

Carvalho is set to debut with the promotion on Oct. 19. The event is slated to take place in Abu Dhabi.

UFC 148 Prelims Draws All Time High In Viewers on FX 

The ratings for the UFC 148 Prelims have been released and Dana White is sure to be happy. The preliminary bouts averaged a new high in 1.8 million viewers. The broadcast was the highest rated on FX.

The two hour broadcast on FX saw Melvin Guillard, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Constantinos Philippou and Shane Roller all earn decision victories.

CWFC 48 Gets A New Main Event

A ruptured thigh muscle has forced Faycal Hucin to withdraw from his middleweight clash with John Phillips at Cage Warriors 48. Chris Fields has agreed to step in and take on Phillips.

Due to the short notice, the fight will now be contested at a catchweight of 192 pounds.

CWFC 48 takes place on July 21 from The HMV Forum in London.

Aggression Fighting Championships and Unified MMA Combine for Super Show

Aggression Fighting Championships (AFC) and Unified MMA are excited to announce their upcoming joint show, aptly titled “Invasion,” which is set to take place in the Shaw Conference Center on Friday, Oct. 12.

Sunny Sareen of Unified MMA explained why the joint show made sense.

“Obviously we have a lot of crossover fans that attend both Unified and Aggression events. A lot of these fans have wondered about some dream matchups between Unified fighters and Aggression fighters…we just decided it made sense to make it happen.”
