Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen Set to Coach on Next Season of The Ultimate Fighter UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones will be coaching on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter. Coaching opposite Jones will be former middleweight title contender, Chael Sonnen. A fight between the two coaches has also been scheduled for April 27, 2013. The show is set to begin taping on Oct. 29 and will air on FX in Jan. 2013. Sonnen will no longer fight Forrest Griffin at UFC 155 due to his coaching obligations. Source: The LA Times The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2 Tryouts Draws Over 300 Fighters The UFC recently held tryouts for The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2 season in Rio de Jeneiro, Brazil. The tryouts attracted over 300 participants who auditioned through a 90-second grappling portion along with some striking demonstrations. As of now the UFC has not announced what weight class will be chosen. The second season is set to begin filming later this year. Source: MMA Junkie XFC Announces Title Plans for XFC: Night of Champions II Nick “Notorious” Newell will receive a crack at the XFC Lightweight title on Dec. 7. Newell, who was born with a partial left arm, has amassed a professional record of 8-0 with three of those wins coming in the XFC. Newell will challenge Eric “It’s a Wrap” Reynolds for the lightweight title. XFC: Night of Champions II will take place from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
