Bonnar, Herman test positive for banned substances at UFC 153 Post-fight drug tests from UFC 153 have revealed that fighters Stephan Bonnar and Dave Herman each tested positive for banned substances. UFC officials tested all 24 fighters who competed at the event. Bonnar tested positive for Drostanolone, an anabolic steroid, while Herman’s screen was flagged for marijuana metabolites. Suspensions have yet to be announced, although Bonnar recently announced his retirement from competition. UFC 153 took place Oct. 13 at Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. Anderson Silva defeated Bonnar in the evening’s headliner while Herman was submitted by Antonio Rodrgio Nogueira in the co-main event.
