Lavar Johnson injured, forced out of bout with Brendan Schaub The UFC injury bug continues, as Lavar Johnson has pulled out of his UFC on FOX 5 fight with Brendan Schaub due to a pulled groin. UFC president Dana White tweeted Thursday evening announcing the injury. Schaub has also been pulled off the card, with the event only a week away on Dec. 8. Source: Twitter New UFC on FOX 5 bout order; Martinez vs. Cruickshank bumped to FX prelims With Lavar Johnson vs. Brendan Schaub off the card, the UFC has adjusted its UFC on FOX 5 card. The main switch is Henry Martinez vs. Daron Cruickshank has been added to the FX prelims, and Michael Chiesa vs. Marcus LeVesseur will be the final prelim bout before switching over to FOX. UFC on FOX 5 takes place on Dec. 8 from the KeyArena in Seattle. The event was before named “Strikeforce: Champions”, but with two title fights off the card, the only five round bout will be Nate Marquardt vs. Tarec Saffiedine for the welterweight title. Lightweights Jorge Gurgel and Adriano Martins have been added to the event, while Estevan Payan and Michael Bravo have been rebooked, both of which will take place on the preliminary portion of the card. “Strikeforce: Champions” takes place on Jan. 12 from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. Jay “Da Spyda Killa” Silva has agreed to a multi-fight deal with the MFC, and will make his debut with the promotion at MFC 36: Reality Check. No opponent has been named for Silva MFC 36: Reality Check takes place on Feb. 15 from the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The event will be aired live on AXS TV. Cage Warriors will return to The Helix in Dublin for the second time. The event will be broadcast live on MMA Junkie, with the prelim airing on the Cage Warriors Facebook page.
