UFC 160 targeted for Memorial Day weekend Nothing is set in stone, but if the UFC has their way, UFC 160 will emanate live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Once official, the event will will feature a total of twelve fights, including prelims on Facebook and FX. Four of the UFC’s past six outings on Memorial Day weekend featured title fights, so while nobody can confirm any bouts for the card just yet, a high likelihood exists that a title fight may occur this summer. Source: MMA Junkie Saki-Ghita 2 headlines Glory 6 in Istanbul Heavyweight kickboxing superstars Gokhan Saki and Daniel Ghita will collide once again when GLORY travels to the Ülker Sports Arena in Istanbul, Turkey on April 6 for “GLORY 6: Istanbul”. Saki defeated Ghita over two years ago in what many consider a classic matchup. Saki and Ghita now come off of respective GLORY 4 losses to GLORY heavyweight champion Semmy Schilt to combat each other for a shot at the gold. Source: The MMA Corner Burrell-Villefort completes UFC 157 card; McGee vs. Neer completes main card With Manny Gamburyan injured and Chad Mendes off the UFC 157 card, a welterweight bout between Court McGee and Josh Neer takes its spot on the main card on PPV. Additionally, Nah-Shon Burrell will face fellow Strikeforce import Yuri Villefort, with both looking to soothe the sting of recent losses. Though listed as part of the Facebook prelims, UFC officials did not confirm or deny whether the bout will air on Facebook. Source: UFC Rickels-Fischer rematch to take place at Bellator 91 A fractured hand will take Alexander Sarnavskiy out of a season-eight lightweight semifinal bout with David Rickels, leaving Jason Fischer the chance for a rematch with Rickels at Bellator 91. Rickels scored a unanimous decision win over Lloyd Woodard to advance to the semifinals, while Fischer submitted Sevak Magakian. Both victories came at Bellator 87. Fischer’s loss to Rickels came by unanimous decision after three rounds of their Bellator 82 encounter. Source: Sherdog Cage Warriors introduces single-night tournaments With Conor McGregor set for a UFC on Fuel TV 9 bout with Marcus Brimage, Cage Warriors now holds vacant titles in the bantamweight, featherweight, and lightweight classes. This year, the promotion will aim for single-event tournaments in those three divisions to crown new champions. The tournaments will feature the four top fighters in each of the three divisions. For each single-night title tournament, the semi-finals will kick off the card, and the winners of those semifinal bouts will headline the card for the tournament final.
