Invicta Fighting Championships has revealed a few changes to its fifth event on April 5 and announced that tickets to the event are now on sale via

Most notably, atomweight Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc has been forced out of her preliminary card match-up with Cassie Rodish due to injury. Rivera-Calanoc had been looking to build on a decision win over Angelica Chavez at Invicta FC 2 last July. The extent of her injury and how long she will be out of action are unknown at this time.

Stepping in against Rodish will be Simona Soukupova, who will be making her promotional debut. The London-based fighter has competed against the likes of Bellator veteran Felice Herrig and fellow Invicta debutant Katja Kankaanpaa. In her last outing, Soukupova defeated Elodie Puget via first-round armbar.

In addition to the Rodish-Soukupova match-up, The MMA Corner has confirmed that a previously announced clash between undefeated bantamweights Lauren Barefoot and River Jones has been pulled from the event.

As announced during the promotion’s fourth event, the April card will be headlined by two title fights. Recently crowned atomweight champion Jessica Penne will make the first defense of her belt against “The Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson. Also, the promotion will crown its inaugural flyweight champion as Barb Honchak battles Brazilian Vanessa Porto.

The event will emanate from the Ameristar Casino Kansas City in Kansas City, Mo. and air via pay-per-view on the promotion’s website.
