Lavar Johnson released by the UFC

When Lavar Johnson started time with the UFC, he made a big splash as he knocked out Joey Beltran and then TKO’ed Pat Barry in his first two fights.  It wasn’t so easy however in the fights that followed as he was submitted by Stefan Struve and dropped a decision to Brendan Schaub.

In the post-fight drug test after the Struve fight, “Big” tested positive for high levels of testosterone.  The positive drug test combined with the two fight losing streak were enough for the promotion to release him.
