Lavar Johnson released by the UFC When Lavar Johnson started time with the UFC, he made a big splash as he knocked out Joey Beltran and then TKO’ed Pat Barry in his first two fights. It wasn’t so easy however in the fights that followed as he was submitted by Stefan Struve and dropped a decision to Brendan Schaub. In the post-fight drug test after the Struve fight, “Big” tested positive for high levels of testosterone. The positive drug test combined with the two fight losing streak were enough for the promotion to release him. SOURCE: MMA Junkie Two prelims for Cage Warriors 53 revealed Before the main card at Cage Warriors 53, two new fights have been added to the preliminary card for the evening. Jean N’Doye is set to fight for the first time at bantamweight against Richie Edgeworth, while Mark Connor will take on Joe Laurence in a flyweight contest. Cage Warriors 53 takes place in Scotland on April 13. SOURCE: The MMA Corner Cage Warriors 57 announced Liverpool will play host to Cage Warriors 57 on Saturday, July 20. While no fights have currently been announced, the Echo Arena will play host. The last time the promotion landed in Liverpool, it was in 2006.
