Boxer Holly Holm to retire and begin MMA career full-time Holm, a WBF, IBA Female, and WBAN welterweight boxing champion with a record of 32-2-3 will retire from boxing after her next match in order to pursue MMA full time. She is a Mike Winklejohn student and holds an undefeated record of 3-0 in professional MMA competition. Source: MMA Junkie Legacy FC 21 will hold two title fights in a July event The Legacy Fighting Championship 21 card is set with 12 fights. It will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight between Angel Huerta and Matt Hobar. The second title fight will be at middleweight between Larry Crowe and William Bush. Also on the card will be the LFC debut of former UFC welterweight Matt Riddle. LFC 21 takes place July 19 from Houston’s Arena Theatre. Source: Sherdog Referee Josh Rosenthal pleads guilty in marijuana case According to reports, veteran MMA referee Josh Rosenthal awaits sentencing after pleading guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute. Rosenthal is due back in court May 17 and the government has recommended 37 months in jail and five years probation among other requirements if found guilty. The charges stem from a federal raid from last year in which a warehouse owned by Rosenthal and associates had 1,356 marijuana plants seized. The estimated value of the plants is six million dollars. Source: MMA Junkie Glory Sports continues CBS Sports Network deal The kickboxing league Glory Sports International will continue to have events broadcast on the CBS Sports Network. The agreement will start with a Glory 7 event from Milan Italy on April, 20. The nine-bout kickboxing event will be headlined by a fight between top ranked lightweight Giorgio Petrosyan and Hafid El Boustati and airs at 1:00 a.m ET. The other event announced is a single-elimination tournament in Glory’s featherweight division, which will air May 5 at 2:00 a.m ET.
