In the Cage – Barnett/Mir Added to UFC 164, One FC 9 Weigh-in Results and UFC TV Deal in Latin America Sal DeRose May 30, 2013 News Each day, The MMA Corner will provide a recap of results, event announcements, fight match-ups, and injuries/cancellations from throughout the world of MMA. Josh Barnett vs. Frank Mir at UFC 164 in Milwaukee Josh Barnett’s return to the UFC will be in a highly anticipated match with former UFC heavyweight champion, Frank Mir. The match will go down at UFC 164 when the UFC takes a trip to Milwaukee at the Bradley Center on Aug. 31. The fight will be Barnett’s first appearance in the UFC in 11 years. After what seemed like a long and drawn out negotiation process, Barnett will enter the Octagon coming off of a win in his last fight and a 9-1 record in his last ten fights. The only loss in those ten fights came against Strikeforce heavyweight kingpin, Daniel Cormier. Mir on the other hand is on a two-fight losing streak and is 3-2 in his last five. Although like Barnett, his losses have come against top opponents like former heavyweight champion, Junior dos Santos, and Cormier.
