Mike Pyle to replace Thiago Alves against Matt Brown

A replacement for Thiago Alves at UFC on FOX Sports 1: 1 has been announced and it will be Mike Pyle stepping up as the replacement against Matt Brown.

Alves still hasn’t returned to the cage following his loss in March of 2012 against Martin Kampmann. Alves was originally slated to fight at UFC 149 last July, but injuries forced him off the card. Alves chose to take further time off to heal more injuries.

Now, Pyle gets the shot at Mike Brown on August 17 at TD Garden Arena in Boston for the first show on the new FOX Sports channel.

Pyle has won seven of his last eight fights and is currently riding a four-fight win streak. Pyle last fought in May against Rick Story at UFC 160 winning by decision.
