On Wednesday, Aug. 28, the UFC returned to Indianapolis for UFC Fight Night 27: Condit vs. Kampmann 2 from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

In the night’s main event, welterweights Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann went to a battle in a rematch of their 2009 contest which Kampmann claimed via split decision. Since that bout, Condit claimed the UFC’s interim championship, but fell short in his conquest to dethrone champion Georges St-Pierre. Kampmann, meanwhile, had gone just 5-4 during the same stretch, most recently having a three-fight winning streak snapped by current No. 1 contender Johny Hendricks.

Also on the main card, lightweights Donald Cerrone and Rafael Dos Anjos looked to inch closer to contention, TUF winner Kelvin Gastelum made his welterweight debut against Strikeforce import Brian Melancon, TUF winners Court McGee and Robert Whittaker battled it out, bantamweights Takeya Mizugaki and Erik Perez faced off, and TUF alums Robert “Bubba” McDaniel and Brad Tavares locked horns at middleweight.

The 12-fight event kicked off at 5 p.m. ET with two bouts streaming on the promotion’s YouTube and Facebook pages. Four additional bouts followed on Fox Sports 2 at 6 p.m. ET, with the six-fight main card starting at 8 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
