UFN 29 weigh-ins set, Aldo, Barao host Q&A

UFC Fight Night 29 live weigh-ins will come on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Jose Correa Arena in Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Prior to the weigh-ins, UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and UFC interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao will host the question-and-answer session that precedes the weigh-ins. The week concludes wit UFC Fight Night 29 the next day live from the same venue.

Moraga-Uyenoyama set for UFC on Fox 9 

John Moraga and Darren Uyenoyama recently suffered defeated to the top two of the flyweight ranks and both men now look to right their ship at UFC on Fox 9. Moraga recently lost to UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, while Uyenoyama lost to Joseph Benavidez. The placement of this bout on the card remains in question, though it may likely head to the preliminary portion of the card.

Jotko signs with the UFC, Choi deal reportedly close

Undefeated 13-0 middleweight Krzysztof Jotko signed on to the UFC roster this week. The Polish-born middleweight comes off of the heels of wins in a number of one-night tournaments, and at 24, looks to showcase his full potential inside the Octagon. Also, Korean featherweight prospect Doo Ho Choi remains close to a deal with the UFC, but Choi remains under contract with DEEP. Should DEEP let him out, however, Choi will add his name to the growing list of featherweights to watch under the UFC’s umbrella.

Bellator WW semifinals set for Bellator 104

Ron Keslar, War Machine, Rick Hawn, and Brent Weedman will all see action at Bellator 104, as part of the Bellator season-nine welterweight tournament semifinal field. Keslar faces War Machine, while Hawn and Weedman square off in a rematch of their season-six encounter, in which Hawn took home the tournament title. The winner of those two bouts will meet in the finals for a shot at the Bellator welterweight title.

UFC planning 13 events in Brazil for 2014

With UFC Fight Night 29 and UFC Fight Night 32 emanating from Brazil, the UFC’s 2013 ends with seven outings. Next year, however, the UFC plans to feature 13 events from Brazil. In addition, The Ultimate Fighter Brazil will come back with another season, though UFC president Dana White declined to comment on who would coach the upcoming season.
