[divider]Alvarez, Chandler included in Bellator 106 medical suspensions

Eddie Alvarez, Michael Chandler, Emanuel Newton, and Pat Curran made the list of medically-suspended talent from this past weekend’s Bellator 106 card, all due to various lacerations. Alvarez suffered a laceration over his left eyelid in his split-decision win over Michael Chandler, who also endured a laceration over his left eye. Meanwhile, Newton suffered a laceration to his left cheek in his win over Muhammed Lawal, and former Bellator featherweight champion Pat Curran fought through a laceration to his scalp in his title loss to new champion Daniel Straus.

Important of note, “Fight Master” welterweight winner Joe Riggs likely fractured his right thumb and his orbital in his win over Mike Bronzoulis, in addition to suffering a laceration on his left eyebrow, so his 180 day-long suspension actually serves as the longest medical suspension of Saturday’s bunch.
