On Friday, Feb. 7, Prize Fighting Championship hosted its fifth event, Paramount Prize Fighting 2014, from the Paramount Theater in Denver.

The event was headlined by PFC featherweight champion Jarred Mercado facing off with PFC bantamweight champion Josh Huber in a battle for Huber’s 135-pound title. Mercado entered the contest on the heels of his first defeat as a professional, a decision loss to Jordan Stiner under the CFFC banner. Huber, meanwhile, stepped into his title defense riding a two-fight winning streak to close out 2013.

In the night’s co-main event, welterweights Josh Cavan and Brian Camozzi locked horns. Cavan looked to extend his winning streak to three, having rebounded from a knockout loss to UFC and Bellator veteran Joe Riggs. Camozzi, the younger brother of UFC middleweight Chris Camozzi, moved up in weight in hopes of bouncing back from the first loss of his career.

The 12-fight event, which consisted of six professional MMA fights, one professional kickboxing contest and five amateur MMA bouts–was streamed live via online pay-per-view.
