Bellator 119: Weichel vs. Green Post-Fight Video Wrap-Up

On Friday, May 9, Bellator MMA hosted its 119th event from Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada.

In the night’s main event, the promotion crowned its season 10 featherweight tournament champion when Desmond Green locked horns with Daniel Weichel. Green earned his spot in the final with decision victories over Mike Richman and Will Martinez. Germany’s Weichel submitted Scott Cleve and outworked Matt Bessette to earn his shot at $100,000 and a guaranteed shot at the promotion’s 145-pound title currently held by Pat Curran.

Also on the card, a number of big names were in action. Former Dream and Strikeforce combatant Marius Zaromskis faced off with fellow welterweight Vaughn Anderson, UFC veterans squared off as John Alessio took on Eric Wisely in a 160-pound catchweight affair, WEC featherweight stalwart Chris Horodecki competed in his native Canada against dangerous Brazilian Marlon Sandro, and longtime middleweight tournament staple Brian Rogers returned to action against Ultimate Fighter 19 castoff Adrian Miles.

The 10-fight event kicked off with six preliminary card bouts streaming live on Spike.com. The four-fight main card aired live on Spike TV beginning at 9 p.m.
