In the night’s main event, former WEC and UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson locks horns with once-beaten Dagestani Rustam Khabilov. The 30-year-old Henderson has tasted defeat just twice in his last 20 fights—both at the hands of current champion Anthony Pettis. Henderson now looks to build off a controversial, split decision win over Josh Thomson in January. Khabilov, meanwhile, has taken the UFC by storm. Training out of Jackson’s MMA, the 29-year-old has run through Vinc Pichel and Yancy Medeiros, and put on a “Fight of the Night” performance against Jorge Masvidal in November. The co-main event of the evening pits two Ultimate Fighter winners against one another as season one’s Diego Sanchez faces off with season nine’s Ross Pearson. For Sanchez, the bout marks a homecoming, as he’ll compete in his hometown and aims to snap a two-fight losing streak. Pearson will look to regain the momentum he had before a bizarre no-contest in October against Melvin Guillard. The 11-fight event kicks off Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET with a single fight streaming on the promotion’s digital network, UFC Fight Pass. Four additional preliminary card bouts will follow on Fox Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET, with the six-fight main card beginning at 10 p.m. ET. The fighters hit the scales at 6 p.m. ET.
