On Friday, June 20, GLORY hosted the weigh-ins for its 17th event and the promotion’s inaugural pay-per-view, Last Man Standing, from the Forum in Los Angeles. The back-to-back events take place Saturday, June 21.

In the GLORY 17 main event, heavyweight legend Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic will re-match American Jarrel Miller. The Croatian Filipovic returned to kickboxing in 2012 after nearly a decade away from the ring. As a former Pride FC open weight champion and UFC combatant, the 39-year-old is infamous for his success in MMA. He defeated Miller in March of 2013, but fell short in GLORY debut against Remy Bonjasky. Miller, meanwhile, has been out of action since his defeat to Cro Cop. The 25-year-old will be eager to erase the lone loss on his record.

The co-main event of the evening features a lightweight contest between Suriname’s Andy Ristie and American Ky Hollenbeck. Ristie shocked the kickboxing world in 2013 with upset wins over Giorgio Petrosyan and Robin van Roosmalen, but succumbed to a knockout against Davit Kiria in his last outing. Hollenbeck has compiled a record of 3-1 in the GLORY ring, with his lone loss coming against the aforementioned Petrosyan.

The event also featured a four-man featherweight contender tournament featuring Shane Oblonsky vs. Marcus Vinicius and Gabriel Varga vs. Yodkhunpon Sitmonchai.

The event begins at 6:35 p.m. ET with a five-fight, un-televised preliminary card. The Spike TV-broadcast main card kicks off at 8 p.m. ET.

The pay-per-view card features three title fights, including the promotion’s one-night, eight-man middleweight title tournament. The tournament includes Artem Levin, Alex Pereira, Filip Verlinden, Melvin Manhoef, Joe Schilling, Simon Marcus, Bogdan Stoica and Wayne Barrett.

The promotion’s heavyweight title will be up for grabs as Romania’s Daniel Ghita takes on Holland’s Rico Verhoeven. The pair met previously as part of the GLORY 11: Chicago tournament, with Verhoeven besting Ghita via decision in the tournament final.

Also on the card, newly crowned welterweight champion Marc de Bonte will quickly return to action to take on Canada’s Joseph Valtellini. De Bonte captured the title at GLORY 16: Denver in early May with a decision win over Karapet Karapetyan and will look to successfully defend it against “Bazooka Joe.”

The event begins at 10 p.m. ET live on pay-per-view.
