In the night’s main event, a pair of top-10 lightweight mainstays squared off as former WEC title challenger Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone took on New Jersey’s own Jim Miller. The 31-year-old Cerrone rode a three-fight winning streak into the contest. The Colorado native had earned “Performance of the Night” honors in each fight, finishing Evan Dunham, Adriano Martins and Edson Barboza along the way. Miller, meanwhile, had bounced back from a submission loss to Pat Healy (which was later overturned to a no-contest) to submit Fabricio Camoes and Yancy Medeiros in his last two appearances. The co-main event of the evening featured the aforementioned Barboza and Dunham. Both fighters were looking to get back into contention at the other’s expense. Each had been out of action since their respective submission losses to Cerrone. Dunham stepped into the Octagon having dropped three of his last four bouts. The 11-fight event kicked off Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. ET with a lone bout streaming on UFC Fight Pass. Four additional preliminary card bouts followed at 7 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1, with the six-fight main card beginning at 9 p.m. ET, also on Fox Sports 1.
