On Friday, July 18, Legacy Fighting Championship visited the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas, for its 33rd event. The main card aired live on AXS TV.

In the night’s main event, the promotion’s featherweight title was on the line as champion Leonard Garcia made the first defense of his belt against unbeaten Texan Damon Jackson. Garcia captured the promotion’s 145-pound title with a first-round knockout of Kevin Aguilar in December. It marked the third straight win for Garcia since being released from the UFC in the spring of 2013. Jackson, meanwhile, was making his third appearance inside the Legacy cage. The 25-year-old Bellator MMA veteran had scored back-to-back submission wins in his two promotional appearances.

Also on the card, lightweight Kamarudeen Usman made his third consecutive appearance under the Legacy banner as he took on WEC veteran Marcus Hicks. Usman, who had also competed for RFA, CFA and Victory FC, had earned TKO wins at Legacy 27 and 30 in 2014. Hicks was making his promotional debut.

The nine-fight event kicked off with three, un-aired preliminary card bouts. The night’s six-fight main card aired live on AXS TV beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
