Dillashaw joined the broadcast via telephone ahead of his rematch against Renan Barao, the man he defeated at UFC 173 to capture the belt. During the interview, Dillashaw talked about how his life has changed both inside and outside the MMA universe since winning the title. Along with winning a championship comes new found fame. Dillashaw talked about how much more media attention he has garnered since capturing UFC gold. Also, a month after winning the title, Dillashaw also became a married man. He went on to discuss how getting married has changed his life. Also, he expects to see a different Barao in their rematch. He gave his thoughts on a different approach he believes Barao will bring to the fight, along with the things he as been working on with his trainer, former UFC lightweight Duane “Bang” Ludwig. In their first bout at UFC 173 a mere three months ago, Dillashaw sent shock waves throughout the mixed martial arts world when he scored a fifth round TKO victory over Barao to win the bantamweight champion. Many people have called it the biggest upset in UFC history, putting it over Matt Serra’s TKO victory over Georges St-Pierre to win the welterweight title at UFC 69.
