The last two men to be defeated by Ryan Bader will look to get back on the right track when they step in the octagon against each other. Ovince St.Preux (16-6) will face Rafael Cavalcante (12-5) in a light heavyweight battle. OSP will be looking to rebound from his first UFC loss in five fights with the promotion. St.Preux dropped a decision victory earlier this month to Bader in Maine. Cavalcante suffered the same fate at the hands of Bader back in June when he dropped a decision to “Darth” at UFC 174.

Both of these men got their first big shots in Strikeforce, but have had mixed results since moving to the UFC. St.Preux had vaulted himself up the light heavyweight rankings with four wins before dropping that fight to Bader. Cavalcante has not had the same kind of success inside the octagon. The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion has just one UFC victory sandwiched between losses to Thiago Silva and Bader.

Cavalcante will certainly have the home octagon advantage in this one. UFC Fight Night 56 will be emanating from the Ginasio Municipal Tancredo Neves in Uberlandia, Brazil. This will be the UFC’s first trip to this Brazilian city as the promotion continues to bring fight cards to every corner of the South American Country. The card will take place on November 8. Broadcast plans have not been announced so it is unknown whether this will be televised on Fox Sports 1 or be a UFC Fight Pass exclusive. A main event for the card is also expected to be announced in the coming days.
