AXS TV FIGHTS Signs Multi-Year Broadcast Rights Agreement With CES MMA José Youngs September 18, 2014 AXS TV FIGHTS, News On Thursday, AXS TV FIGHTS announced it had officially signed an exclusive broadcast rights agreement with CES MMA, the East Coast’s premiere mixed martial arts organization. “We are excited to add an East Coast-based promotion to the AXS TV FIGHTS family,” said AXS TV Fights CEO Andrew Simon in a press release. “The new addition of CES MMA helps us continue to change the landscape of mixed martial arts and offer more live events from more promotions than any other U.S. television network.” The multi-year deal follows the success of AXS TV FIGHTS: CES MMA XXV held Aug. 8. The new partnership officially begins with AXS TV FIGHTS: CES MMA on Jan. 30, 2015. “CES MMA is excited to be entering into a long term partnership with AXS TV FIGHTS,” added CES MMA Vice President Jimmy Burchfield Jr. “The team at AXS TV FIGHTS and Inside MMA are some of the most talented people in the industry. Joining forces provides us innovative marketing and programming platforms to showcase our highly competitive, exciting fights to a national audience. We are proud of the reputation that CES MMA fighters are UFC ready and viewers will soon get to see why.” Founded in 2010 as an expansion of the famed professional boxing promotion Classic Entertainment & Sports, CES MMA is the home of several established MMA fighters along with dozens of highly touted prospects. Among the most recognizable names that have graced the CES cage over the years are recently crowned lightweight champion and The Ultimate Fighter 16 alum Julian Lane (8-3) and former WWE superstar turned Hollywood actor Dave Bautista (1-0). CES MMA will host its final show of the year on Oct. 10 at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island. CES MMA Heavyweight champion “Big” John Johnson (6-0) will put his belt on the line against Keith Bell (5-5) in the nights’s main event. Also scheduled to appear on the main card is a welterweight contest between TUF 13 alum Chuck O’Neil (13-6) and UFC veteran Ricardo Funch as they battle for the vacant CES MMA welterweight championship.
